Our Mission
To promote expedited, child-centered, collaborative processes that enable children and youth in the child welfare system to have permanent homes and permanency in family relationships
Our Strategies
Collaborate with and bring together individuals and groups associated with the placement of children and youth such as:
Attorneys and Mediators
Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS)
Department of Children and Families (DCF)
Foster and adoptive parents and guardians
Individuals with lived experience in the child welfare system
Juvenile and Probate Family Courts
Massachusetts State Legislature
Private Non-Profit Agencies
Lead an effort to maintain optimal funding for Permanency Mediation and other efforts that support the mission of MCPC.
Maintain up-to-date coalition awareness of state and national legislation that may impact the MCPC goals.
Develop and propose innovative public policy that supports the mission of MCPC.
Promote public awareness for activities that are consistent with the MCPC mission.
Endorse expanded access to services that support the mission of MCPC.
Develop coalition awareness of national initiatives that are consistent with the mission of MCPC.
What We Do
Identify Barriers to Permanency for Children and Youth
Strategize ways to ameliorate barriers to Permanency for Children and Youth
Share ideas, concerns, and information among professionals and individuals who care about and work on behalf of children and youth— folks from the court, DCF, CPCS, attorneys, social workers, foster parents, adoptive parents, and youth
Nurture a collaborative coalition among members in order to best serve children and youth
